This horse definitely marches to the beat of his own drum! He plays dead every time his rider tries to mount him. He does it so well that he actually refuses to eat carrots! As soon as his rider walks away, up he goes and starts eating the carrot.
He plays dead so well he actually looks dead. It’s kind of freaky! He reminds me of my dog when she sleeps on her back. Maybe he’s just tired? What do you think?
Share this on Facebook if you think this horse should try his hand at acting!
Give that horse some food!
YES, HE LOOKS TOO SKINNY !!
Please do
That horse looks so skinny- his ribs are sticking out. Poor guy he was probably just forced to do this.
Not sure if i find this funny , it could be dangerous for a rider and is there maybe something wrong with this horse ? He is too thin too .. or did they just train him to do this ??
I do believe that they trained him to do this.
No. He didnt. I watched this show.
I think they trained him.
I don’t think this is funny at all. I can’t imagine the torture this horse must of endured to to this. Awful! You can do better!
They broke his spirit. I’ve seen that happen too many times by ignorant, frightened people who don’t know how to properly break and train a horse. Not funny at all, and he’s too skinny. I don’t even want to know what happened to him after this.
Video not made availble to australia
Why is this video not available in Australia?
I am curious to know why the bit keeps changing, snaffle, Pelham, snaffle, Pelham.
This horse has his people trained.
2 different horses , pay attention to the blaze
The horse is trained to lie down. Just as people before had shows where they trained their horses to pick up handkerchief, lie down an pull a blanket over themselves etc. This horse is trained to lie down and play dead on his owners cue. I agree he could do with some more food though.
I think this is horse was taught a trick. And they were having fun with it. You can see this easily as the handler gives cues.
The horse is not under weight, it’s obviously just a lean built horse. Not every horse needs to have a pot belly going on to be considered healthy. It’s obvious that this horse is either well exercised, or is kept on a special diet to keep him from becoming over weight.
This is disgusting, and hard to watch. This horse is nearly emaciated and probably responding this way as a result of pain. Why this is considered funny, I have no idea.
Bcuz human beings are murderer’s
I, too think this is a horse trained to do this trick. I did find it gave me a giggle. As far as the horses weight is concerned, I also feel that it could use a bit of more food, it is a wee bit under weight. You should never be able to see the hip bones. I also like my horses with a bit less rib showing.
This is obviously in another country. While WE may think the horse is underweight, THEY may think the horse is perfectly fine. Seriously. You got people in other places who don’t even know what a saddle pad is. And their horses get saddle sores. That’s NORMAL for them. I swear. There is always somebody who’s gotta find something negative in every little thing.
So…you’re saying it’s OK to mistreat animals if you live in a country where people think it’s normal to do?
*to do so?
This sounds like Japan anyway, where they certainly know how to look after horses. It is not Egypt after all. There are just people everywhere who think saving a few bucks on feed stops the horse wasting it. There are some country trends. In India people are poor but the horses healthy. In Egypt even when the people are rich the horses look terrible.
I think it was a horse exposed to enormous stress, what is happening is a manifestation of flooding stimulus or freezing
Speaking as a trainer – I was called to an Arab farm who had just acquired an older Arab mare that was supposedly very well trained and a good trail horse for a beginner. They told me when they went to get on her she would fall over. New one on me. So I tacked her up – made sure everything fit correctly and wasn’t interfering with movement, I longed her at all 3 gaits – she was a gem. I put my foot in the stirrup and she stiffened up like she was a toy plastic horse and just fell over and wouldn’t get up until I loosened the cinch on the saddle. Hmmmm – after repeating that a couple of times to make sure it wasn’t a fluke – to add she was fat and sassy. She seemed to have learned if she fell over no one would ride her. I thought about this for a couple of days and when I went back I decided I would go through my routine of tacking, longeing and then attempt to mount her. If she fell over I was going to jump on her head to hold her down and thump on her with a riding bat – makes a heck of a a lot of noise but doesn’t hurt them – the element of surprise and the noise of the bat is usually enough. It worked – she never did it again. From looking at her conformation, I think it bothered her hind legs to be ridden for long periods of time by a heavy rider. She had been purchased for the wife who was maybe 115 lbs sopping wet. I told them to keep the rides less than a half hour and she shouldn’t do the falling over ever again.
Clinician Mark Rashid writes of this in one of his short stories in HORSES NEVER LIE. The horse in that case was reacting to pressure, super sensitive during training, extraordinary so, and thus when he got on, the horse assumed that pressure of human sitting atop meaning yielding to pressure. So, he laid down. Obvious, when you start thinking in horse-think. For whatever reason in his background, this horse has learned there is a pay-off here is more perhaps my suggestion and line of thinking here – perhaps research his background and find out why and where the first circumstances, and then put yourself into the horse’s mind and way of thinking – ?
He’s a tad bit underweight, but clearly a happy guy. A horse doesn’t need to be fat to be healthy, he has muscle tone at his withers and on his hind quarters… Clearly he’s not in a dire starved state…
ASIANS… HAVE NO RESPECT FOR AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANIMALS. LOOK HOW SKINNY THIS POOR HORSE IS.
TOO BAD THERE IS NO WAY TO SAVE THOSE HORSES FROM THIS ASSHAT SUB HUMAN. SHOULDN’T HAVE HORSES IF YOU AREN’T GOING TO FEED THEM. JERK. WHO IS HE?
