Charlie The Railway Horse – A Great Part Of History!
Charlie and his stable mate, Butch had the job of shunting railway wagons. The pair worked 7 days a week maneuvering wagons in a way that no engine could compare to. With all of the modernization happening in 1964, Charlie and Butch still proved to be more useful at their job than any engine.
This video was taken in 1964. Even today there are still tram horses on the Isle of Man. They even have their own retirement community after their tenure. Share this on Facebook if you enjoyed this little piece of history!
