Job Opening: Equine Herd Health Assistant Manager At 1500 Acre Ranch In California
Fairlea Ranch Fairlea Ranch is hiring for an Equine Herd Health Assistant Manager. The Assistant would work with the Manager in covering all areas of horse health management; from the foal to the adult horse.
Some of the skills necessary are: following and executing a vaccine/deworming schedule, wound management, Intravenous and Intramuscular shots, medication dosage and administration, troubleshooting colic, rattlesnake bite, and other emergency situations.
Other skills needed include handling and halter breaking foals, working with and round penning yearlings, and light riding of the ranch horses. They do their own artificial insemination and foaling out for 10 mares per year. The Assistant would help handle mares in the stocks, assist with stallion collections, and foaling during breeding season.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn all aspects of the horse business from breeding to selling. Looking for a self-motivated individual with a good work ethic. The position is full-time, and the person would need to relocate to our Badger 1,500 acre ranch in the Sierra foothills. 1 bedroom apartment, all utilities, satellite TV and a cell phone, among other benefits, are all included in addition to the wages.
