300 Animals Seized From Florida Equine Rescue

Video:  17 horses and more than 250 other animals were seized from a Florida Equine Rescue.  The majority of the animals were dogs.

“Their kibble is just thrown down on hard-packed feces. There’s a female that looks like she’s had a recent litter that is laying in a hole she’s dug out for herself,” Joan Ellis of Second Chance Boxer Rescue said.

The horses are now being cared for at Whispering Ranches.  “This is a lot of neglect. I mean a lot,” said Whispering Ranches owner Beth Shuttlewort

So far no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.  If you have food or supplies to donate to the animals, call the Sheriff’s Office at 941-747-3011, ext. 1151. For adoption questions, call Manatee County Animal Services.

Just terrible. Hope there’s a special place in hell for people who do this to animals.

This should have never gotten this far. People who adopt or volunteer need to speak up for these animals. We are their only voices. If a sanctuary, rescue, zoo or private homes, only we can stop suffering. Thank you to all involved in the rescue.
