5 Reasons Every Child Needs A Horse!
Horses teach children so many things, definitely more than 5! In this world of instant gratification, horses bring children back to basics and set them up for a great life and happy future! Here is a list of 5 things horses teach children that will benefit them throughout their lives:
Responsibility – I don’t know if there’s a better way to teach children responsibility than giving them a horse to care for. The grooming process alone requires so many critical steps to keeping a horse healthy and happy. Children learn that they are responsible for the horse’s well being and they actually WANT to take care of their horse in the best way possible! Horses teach children to WANT to be responsible and that’s a gift!
Self Confidence – Self confidence is so important! If children are self confident they won’t turn to outside sources to feel good about themselves. Horses teach children to set goals and reach them which results in children who are very self confident! They aren’t riding for someone else’s approval. They are riding for themselves!
Patience – If you’ve ever heard the saying “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink” you know what I”m talking about! In this world of instant gratification, horses teach children that patience and careful planning are the best ways to reach our goals! Horses don’t care what your schedule is, they teach young riders to take their time and do things correctly!
Respect – Horses not only teach children to respect themselves, but to respect others as well. Children know that if they don’t respect their horses needs, either them or the horse could end up hurt, sick or in a terrible situation. They also know that if the horse is not respecting them, one of them could end up in a bad situation as well. With horses respect is a two way street, as it should be in all relationships!
Who They Are Matters – It’s not about how you look, it’s about who you are! Horses don’t care about the latest trends or if you’re dressed like Kylie Jenner. They care about who you are and how you treat them. In school young women are under so much pressure to look and dress perfect. Horses want you to be yourself and love yourself. Being a good person will never go out of style!
