Former Marine Riding Across Country On Horseback For Charity
A former U.S. Marine is crossing America on horse for a great cause. In May, Matt Littrell saddled up his horses, and started the journey of his lifetime to honor his brothers on the battlefield. “It’s the honor of my life, to do this ride,” he says. “We’re riding from just south of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, to Camp Pendleton, to raise money for the Semper Fi Fund,” he says.
The Semper FI Fund, is an organization that provides financial help, and lifetime support for wounded, and injured members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.
“It’s so important to me, because we’re losing 22 veterans a day to suicide,” he says. Littrell, says he was almost one of them.
“I spent a long night, staring at a pistol on the table in front of me.” Littrell travels 20 miles a day and is absorbing everything America has to offer on his journey. “Seeing this country at 3 miles an hour, you get to see the good, the bad, the ugly every bit of America, you get to see it.”
